Fanatik claim scouts from Liverpool will be present at Akyazi Arena this weekend to watch Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir, when his side face Besiktas in the Turkish Super Lig.
Earlier this week we covered comments made by Cakir’s agent, when he revealed Liverpool are showing an interest in his client and have previously watched him this season.
He also told the Turkish press he’s held talks with the Premier League club, but an offer hadn’t yet been tabled.
Erdi Kirkpinar was quoted by Ajansspor as saying: “Every team have scouts and some of them are following Ugurcan’s matches. Schalke haven’t made an official offer for him.
“I know Lille and Schalke are following him. Liverpool are also interested in him. Liverpool officials have talked with us, we had some contacts, but no official offer has come from them.”
Fanatik now claims that Lille, Schalke and Liverpool will continue to follow Cakir in the remaining two games of the Turkish season, and are ‘ready’ to knock on Trabzonspor’s door at the end of the season.
The 23 year old has been in impressive form for Trabzonspor during this campaign after establishing himself as the club’s first choice goalkeeper following the departure of Onur Kivrak.
Cakir is under contract with Trabzonspor until June 2021.
