Alberto Moreno left Sevilla and made a switch to Liverpool in 2014 and his contract at Anfield runs down at end of the season.
According to Marca, the left-back ‘dreams’ of making a return to his former club, either in January or as a free agent next summer as he’s struggled for regular playing time at Anfield.
The Merseyside club, on the other hand, are looking to earn money from his sale in the mid-season transfer window, which is why they have contacted the La Liga outfit to see the possibility of the Spaniard’s transfer at the start of 2019.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have offered the defender to Sevilla in January, according to the claims, but the latter believe the fullback will be a great addition in June, when he is available for free. Moreno’s attacking qualities will suit Pablo Machin’s style when going forward.
Even though it is best for Sevilla to sign the player next summer, a move in January is not ruled out and should they go for the latter, it’s stated they will only sign the 26-year-old for a ‘very low’ fee.
That may not fit with Liverpool’s plans.
