SabahSpor report Galatasaray are set to reject the chance to sign Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva this summer.
The Turkish newspaper reports Galatasaray have met with Lucas’ agent in London and offered him a €2.5m annual salary for 3 years. However, the Liverpool player is demanding a package of €3m for the same duration, including a signing on fee.
The Galatasaray board have made it clear they are not prepared to offer the Brazilian such a salary, and talks between the two parties have stalled. Sabah say Galatasaray are not looking to restart discussions with Lucas, and they are now moving on to other alternatives.
Lucas will be out of the contract with Liverpool in the summer and the player has been long linked with a move to Turkey. At the start of the 2015/16 season, midfielder came very close to joining Besiktas, but Brendan Rodgers blocked the deal at the last minute.
Last summer he was wanted by Galatasaray but after discussions with Jurgen Klopp the midfielder decided to stay at Liverpool.
