Everton are to step up their pursuit of Ajax midfielder Davy Klaassen, claim TMW. The Netherlands international looks set to leave the Dutch giants this summer, and Everton are ready to move in on the player.

TMW have reported Everton have been monitoring Klaassen throughout the season and may look to put in a bid for the 24-year-old. Everton boss Ronald Koeman knows his compatriot well from his time coaching Feyenoord, and could look to add him to his squad for next season.

It’s been claimed Ajax will be open to selling the midfielder as they too are weighing up their strategy for the next window.

It’s expected high profile players could leave Ajax in the summer, and the club’s leaders would prefer Klaassen to go over young forward Kasper Dolberg. The Dane has been linked with a move to Serie A, and Premier League clubs have also been showing an interest in the youngster.
