Brazilian attacking midfielder Luan Vieira is on the radar of European clubs, and reports from Russia claim he might be close to a move to Spartak Moscow, despite the interest from Liverpool.
We covered reports on Liverpool’s reported interest for Luan a few days ago, but it seemed the Premier League side’s links with the player were “just smoke”. The midfielder had been linked with Liverpool in the past, but a bid has never come in from the Merseyside club.
Still it was claimed Liverpool and Spartak Moscow, Sampdoria are in the race to sign Luan, and now it’s claimed the Russian side are close to signing the player.
His agent Jair Peixoto has told Russian newspaper Sport Express Spartak Moscow are trying to sign his client: “Spartak and Luan have reached a verbal agreement. The preliminary term of the player’s contract with the club is four years.”
Peixoto added: “Representatives of Gremio are cooperating due to the price for the transfer. I think that next week the player will join the current champion of Russia, if there are no difficulties.”
The transfer fee was not mentioned, but it’s speculated Gremio could ask for around €24m for the Brazil international.
Due to his good form this season, it’s apparent why he’s attractive to the big clubs in Europe. Luan has scored 11 goals and provided 8 assists in 24 games, and in January he made his debut for Brazil’s full team after his contribution in last year’s Olympic winning team.
