Liverpool have negotiated a purchase clause of £20m, or €23m, to sign Ozan Kabak at the end of his loan deal.

That’s according to Kicker, who say the Reds want to loan the centre-back as they look to add cover before tonight’s deadline.

Kabak has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield this morning, with several reports in Germany stating that Liverpool are in negotiations with Schalke over a move.

Indeed, things have picked up in the last hour, with Kabak reportedly at his club to undergo a medical and his agent now pictured meeting with the Bundesliga side as well.

The deal on the table appears to be a loan move with a purchase clause tagged on the end, although, there has been no comment on the value of that clause as yet.

Kicker now provide that, stating the clause being negotiated at present currently stands at £20m, so around €23m, which is also the price that Liverpool are reported to have offered Marseille for Duje Caleta Car.

BILD don’t back this up as yet, but they do say that Kabak could fly to England to finalise the move today, which would represent another major step forward in the deal as well.

At the moment it seems it is all going on, with Liverpool very much in with a chance of getting the defender they desperately need. For what price, however, remains to be seen.
