AFC Bournemouth striker Joshua King has less than six months left on his contract, but he could be sold before the winter market closes today.

After being linked with West Ham United for most part of last month, Southampton have arrived as a new candidate for the 29-year-old

That was according to earlier English claims, which states the Saints are in talks with the Cherries to take the Norway international for a low fee, and allow Shane Long to move in the opposite direction on a loan deal.

Southampton being in ‘negotiations’ for signing King is also reported in Norway by VG.

The outlet partially backs up the earlier claims, about the interest shown by Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side in the Bournemouth player.

Regarding King’s move to St Mary’s, VG explain so far ‘nothing has been decided’. However, there are indications he could be seen as a ‘big Deadline Day bomb seen through Norwegian eyes’.

More developments are awaited as we edge closer to the last hours of the winter 2021 market.
