Earlier on Monday, we relayed Mundo Deportivo’s claims that the La Liga runners-up will be able to ‘talk down’ the Reds from their €100m asking price, as well as trying to figure out why their director of football, Robert Fernandez, always looked so smug.
Despite there being hope in the Catalan press that Barcelona will be able to convince Liverpool to sell them Coutinho, France Football’s Nabil Djellit has apparently been told otherwise.

If that truly is the case, then that would be game over for Barcelona, as it seems unlikely that Coutinho will try and push for a transfer, having made a name for himself at Anfield over the past couple of years.
Furthermore, at 25, the Liverpool star still has plenty of time on his side to get a big transfer away from Merseyside, if that ends up being his wish, so staying there an extra season won’t be the end of the world.
After all, if Coutinho ends up having another great season, as well as a good World Cup, the Reds will be able to ask for the moon and more next summer if clubs come knocking.
