In March we covered claims from France that Everton and Liverpool were interested in signing PSG youngster Presnel Kimpembe.
AS Monaco had tried to sign the defender during the January transfer window, as they continue their request to recruit excellent young talent in France.
Kimpembe in a central defender, and given the problems Marquinhos is having getting into the team, it only serves to underline how difficult things will be for the youngster to break through.
Back in March, L’Equipe said PSG were going to offer Kimpembe a new contract, in the hope that extra money would be able to convince the youngster to forget about his worries over progression. It sound like the usual route.
However, L’Equipe report on Friday that Kimpembe has refused a renewal offer from PSG. The 20 year old is under contract with PSG until June 2018, but at this stage unwilling to extend.
That gives a boost to Liverpool, Everton, Monaco and any other teams interested in the player.
