Everton’s Vitaliy Mykolenko has expressed his desire to continue at Goodison Park beyond this season.
Ukraine’s Sport.ua have covered comments made by the 25-year-old discussing his future with the Toffees.
Mykolenko joined Everton from Dynamo Kyiv in January 2022 and agreed a contract until 2026.
The left-back has been the first choice and maintained his place in the starting lineup even after David Moyes returned to Goodison Park in January. He played close to 3,000 minutes from 34 games in all competitions for Everton so far this season.
Despite having less than 14 months left on his contract, the defender feels comfortable at the Merseyside club.
When asked about his future beyond this season, he said: “I don’t like to plan ahead. I live one day at a time, but I plan everything for the near future. I have a contract with Everton now, I’m happy at this club. In principle, I would like to stay here.”
The Ukraine international is likely to be part of Everton’s plans next season and has made it clear that things are going well for him at the club. Therefore, he isn’t thinking about changing clubs in the summer window.
“Plans… I don’t want to plan anything. I’m at Everton now, I’m in a good mood and the weather is great. Everything is great,” Mykolenko explained.
Everton may have to improve the left-back position in the upcoming window considering Mykolenko is currently the only recognised left-back at the club.
