Leicester City’s bid for William Carvalho has been deemed as ‘important’ although they are yet to negotiate a deal with Real Betis.
The Foxes have been heavily linked with a move for the Portuguese midfielder this summer, with reports over the last week indicating they already have a deal in place with the player.
Indeed, recent claims stated that Leicester’s agreement with the midfielder was ‘very advanced’ at this point, suggesting that he is ready to move to the King Power Stadium at some point.
However, any excitement about a potential deal has been tempered by the fact they are yet to reach an agreement with Betis over his asking price.
The Spanish side will be loathed to lose one of their star men for anything other than a decent price, although what that may be is yet to come to light.
Nonetheless, the interest is clearly there, and ABC Sevilla cover it slightly today saying the offer on the table from Leicester is an ‘important’ one.
What that means isn’t made clear, although it is probably safe to assume that Brendan Rodgers’ side are offering the midfielder a decent deal if it is deemed as such.
They back up claims that there is no agreement between Leicester and Betis yet, stating the clubs ‘still have to negotiate’, suggesting they haven’t even opened talks over a transfer as yet.
