On Tuesday, we relayed news from Italy that Leicester City and Newcastle United have emerged as potential suitors for AS Roma’s Cengiz Ünder.

It was also explained the Foxes are ‘reluctant’ to pay the winger’s €23m asking price, while the Magpies are looking to take him on a loan deal.

Calciomerctao.it now provides a short update on the 23-year-old’s future, and also cover Leicester interest in the player.

They start their report by stating the Turkey international is ‘also leaving’ the Serie A side, as he will follow Edin Džeko out of the club this summer.

Hertha Berlin are interested, and it’s claimed that Brendan Rodgers’ side and the Bundesliga club are involved in a ‘two-way battle’ to acquire Ünder’s services.

The website further adds the Premier League club, at the moment, are ‘strongly pressing’ for signing the player.

This suggests Leicester could be ahead of Hertha Berlin in the chase for the wideman, whose contract at Roma runs until 2023.

Calciomercato.it, however, doesn’t mention the fee needed to take Ünder away from Roma.
