Apart from the Premier League top six, there’s a few other English clubs who watch Portuguese matches regularly, and one of them is Leicester City.
The Foxes are often named in the lists of emissaries who watch the local games, even though there isn’t always a claim of who were they keeping an eye on.
Now there’s a fresh target they’re said to be keeping an eye on. According to O Jogo today, Leicester are following Braga midfielder Ricardo Esgaio.
Described by the Portuguese newspaper as a ‘moneyed’ club, the Foxes would be one of the sides who became impressed with Esgaio’s performances in the Europa League, and could now go after him in the summer window.
Braga are said to be willing to keep their stars this summer, and are ready to be ‘confronted’ by big offers for them.
Esgaio joined the club last year on a free deal, as part of a trade with Sporting. He quickly earned himself an important role in the team, and as mentioned by O Jogo, he’s called ‘Robocop’ by manager Abel Ferreira.
If that isn’t enough for Leicester City to sign him then we’ve no idea what is.
