Already making 21 appearances for Club Brugge this season, albeit most from the bench, at the tender of age of 17, it’s no surprise that a few clubs in England are looking at Noah Mbamba.
The news comes from Jeunes Footeux in France, who claim that, according to their information, Brighton & Hove Albion, Leicester City and Crystal Palace are all ‘attentively’ following the young defensive midfielder.
Already very tall for his age, Mbamba can also play at centre-back or a bit further forward, but most would expect him to keep developing in front of the defence, which is where his future in the Premier League could be.
After all, Brighton’s Yves Bissouma has been linked with an exit from the Seagulls for a while now, with Aston Villa reportedly keen to sign him, and it’s no secret Graham Potter’s side have good ties in Belgium.
As for Leicester, it wouldn’t be the first time the Foxes did some shopping in Belgium for a defensive midfielder, previously signing Wilfred Ndidi from KRC Genk back in 2017.
Moving onto Crystal Palace, their name is preceded with an ‘especially’, suggesting they are the keenest on the youngster.
While Patrick Vieira’s side aren’t exactly lacking in that department, but few would argue against the fact that Luka Milivojevic and Cheikhou Kouyaté aren’t exactly getting any younger, aged 30 and 32 respectively.
Definitely something to keep an eye on, although it’s fair to say Brugge probably aren’t all that interested in parting ways with their latest starlet.
