After qualifying to the group stages of the this year’s Champions League by beating Russian side Krasnodar, Olympiacos are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline.
One name who has strongly linked with a move to the Greek giants is Leicester City’s Rachid Ghezzal and Sportime.gr claim both clubs are in advanced talks with regards to a season-long loan deal.
It’s reported the Greek side are looking to sign two players before the transfer deadline and the other target is Lille’s Yassine Benzia, who spent the last season on loan at Fenerbahce.
For Ghezzal, it’s reported Brendan Rodgers has ‘no plans’ for him, hence the talks with Olympiacos for a straight season-long loan deal if both sides reach an agreement in the coming days.
The 27-year-old, who cost Leicester City €14m last season when he arrived from Monaco, has failed to prove himself to Rodgers and subsequently, he will be allowed to leave..
Last season, the former Lyon academy graduate played 23 games for Leicester in all competitions, scoring three goals. He is under contract at King Power Stadium until June 2022
