On Tuesday morning, Atlético Mineiro fans were caught up by surprise with rumours on Twitter claiming that Leeds United are making an attempt for the signing of Guilherme Arana.
The news, credited to Goal Brasil, said the Brazilian club liked the €23m bid submitted by the Whites, and the negotiations should have a ‘positive outcome’ in the coming days.
It turns out that the original report couldn’t be found anywhere, and it didn’t take long for someone to show up dismissing it.
Ricardo Alencar, from Canal Galotube, claims that according to his sources at Atlético, there’s ‘absolutely nothing’ regarding Guilherme Arana and Leeds United.
Guilherme Arana was one of Atlético’s best players this season, in a team which won the Brazilian League and the Brazilian Cup. His form this year gave him his debut with the national team, and it would be no surprise to see European sides coming for his signing soon.
However, at least for now, it seems we should ignore the Leeds rumours.
