Ronaldo Vieira has been linked with a return to Leeds United in the past two transfer windows.
Last summer, the 23-year-old was also linked with Sheffield United, with him apparently failing a medical with the Blades.
In January, a return to Leeds was floated as a way for the youngster to get his career back on track, after a difficult time in Italy with injuries and form.
At the time of the Leeds links, he hadn’t appeared for Sampdoria in the 2021/22 season, and his first Serie A appearance came against Spezia Calcio on January 23rd, with him appearing in the cup a few days earlier against Juventus.
He picked up more appearances in the second half of the campaign, yet still struggled to be a regular and complete matches. The midfielder has a contract with Sampdoria which lasts until June 2023, so now would be the time to consider a renewal or a sale.
SampNews24 report Leeds United ‘wait and hope’ for a transfer, because they’re due 10% of the proceeds, which was agreed as part of the deal to take him to Genoa.
According to the report, this 10% holds back a deal, with Sampdoria seemingly not pleased they’ll have to pay it. That appears a little far fetched, it’s only 10% and not a huge chunk for the Italian club, but would be a cash boost for Leeds.
