According to reports in Sweden media, Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson and several other former Malmo players will donate to a cancer trust for every ticket sold by the club for the Swedish Cup final.

Malmo last week booked their place in the final, and they’ll be aiming to win the competition for the first time in 29 years.

Sydsvenskan have reported Jansson and sponsors will donate 2 Krona for every Malmo ticket sold for next month’s final, as confirmed by the player.

The Leeds United defender has also been on social media to push the sale of the tickets: “The cup final is approaching. I have bought a ticket myself. It’s going to be cool. We at KT Malmo sponsor will give two Krona per ticket to the Children’s Cancer Fund.”

With Leeds United’s season set to end on 6th May it will be no surprise to see Jansson at the final on the 10th May.

Jansson has never hidden his admiration for his former club, even after joining Leeds United, and it’s fitting he’s using his status with the Swedish club to raise money for a worthy cause.

Malmo are due to meet Stockholm based Djurgården in the final.
