Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson has told the Swedish media he’ll discuss his future with his agent after the World Cup.

Speaking to Fotbollskanalen, the Leeds United defender was quizzed about his future: “I have told Martin (Dahlin, agent) that we are taking everything after the World Cup. There is no need to speculate on it now.”

This week Jansson was selected for the Swedish squad ahead of the World Cup in Russia and it seems he’ll think about his future when he returns from the tournament.

Last season the Swede was linked with a move to Southampton, but he remained with Leeds United. Those links seemed largely manufactured, despite spreading far and wide very quickly.

With his status at the Leeds United, the Elland Road faithful will not want to lose the central defender this summer, but he has in the past spoken about his desire to play in the Premier League.

Jansson will preferably want to achieve top flight status with Leeds United as stated in the past, but will likely want to see progress towards achieving that.
