Leeds United have once again been watching Portuguese clubs in European competitions this week.
Back on Tuesday, we had already reported the Whites’ visit to the Estádio da Luz, where they saw Benfica’s clash with RB Leipzig for the Champions League.
Now it seems Leeds had another, or perhaps the same, scout in the north of Portugal. Because as reported by A Bola, they were represented at the match between Porto and Young Boys for the Europa League.
Once again, it’s not said who Leeds could be having an eye on, although it’s getting clearer that the club’s intention is to have a bigger look at the local clubs.
Porto won the match 2-1, with two goals scored by Brazilian striker Tiquinho Soares. Young Boys’ goal came from a penalty converted by Jean-Pierre Nsame.
Portugal is one of the few, if not the only, country who publishes scouting lists for most of the games. So we wonder if Leeds’ mission is local or if they’re doing it elsewhere and it hasn’t been reported.
