Of course the Portuguese press would have a big coverage of Braga’s first game in the Europa League group stage.

But the fact that the Arsenalists have beaten a Premier League club who are famous for having Portuguese players and manager made the match even bigger.

The local media hadn’t been very confident of a win at Molineux, and now newspapers like O Jogo bring headlines which go as ‘Lesson in efficiency at the wolf’s den’.

Ricardo Horta, who scored Braga’s winner, is by far the most praised player. When giving players ratings, O Jogo writes about ‘the hunters Galeno and Horta’, while Record talks about ‘the usual star’ the midfielder has been for the club.

It’s also no surprise that Wolves’ Portuguese players are the most praised. Record says they were the ‘most enlightened’, since Rui Patrício only couldn’t save Horta’s ‘missile’, while João Moutinho and Diogo Jota were the most ‘willing’ and had more ‘clairvoyance’ than others.

O Jogo also highlights Wolves’ confidence in Ruben Neves, saying everytime the midfielder gets the ball in a good position, the supporters start asking him to shoot.

And finally, one of A Bola’s columns says: “For the story, the clear and unambiguous victory is there, at the home of a good team, of the strongest league in the world. For that and only that, congratulations!”
