Spanish outlet Marca today highlights the wish of Leeds United star Raphinha for a Barcelona move.
With his agent Deco having advanced talks with the Catalan side, the player is now said to be patient regarding the ‘formal offer’, which hasn’t been made so far.
Raphinha’s season is obviously good enough to draw interest from many clubs, but his desire of moving to the La Liga giants is so big that he’s currently ‘blocked’ himself from negotiating with anyone else.
It’s said he’s ‘willing to wait’ for Barça to come and bid for him, and whilst he’s doing so, he won’t negotiate with other clubs.
Marca writes that Barcelona are still finding a way of affording this transfer.
They also have to wait for Leeds United’s final standing in the Premier League, as relegation would drop the transfer price. They must also see what will be of Ousmane Dembele’s future, since his departure would require a rush for a new winger.
Interestingly, contrary to Marca, the Brazilian media has been reporting that the Catalan side already placed a bid for Raphinha, even though Leeds will not answer now.
As it stands, the claims from Marca seem more believable.
