Ivan Šunjić is one of a number of players to have been linked with Leeds United in recent days.
The 22 year old currently plays for Dinamo Zagreb. He’s represented his country at every level from U16 to the senior team, although he’s only made one appearance for the latter and that was in a 2017 friendly against Mexico.
Claims of Leeds interest have made their way back to Croatia, where it’s covered by Sportske Novosti. They believe there’s been reports of a €4m offer, and it’s made clear this isn’t the level Dinamo would be looking at for their player.
There’s a suggestion that ‘maybe it’s just a test’, and Leeds would be testing the ground ahead of putting in a more realistic bid for the defensive midfielder, who has a contract lasting until June 2024.
Sportske Novosti believe the transfer remains possible, however, they seem to have built that stance from hearing Leeds will be receiving some investment soon.
A negative point for the Championship club is whether Šunjić would be so keen to play in a second tier, even if it is in England.
