Claims continue to come from Spain that Tottenham are closing in on a deal to sign Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid.

The midfielder shone for Spain as their U21 side would the European championship, and that led to much annoyance in the Spanish sport media over Zinedine Zidane now rating the player highly enough.

Ceballos is convinced he has a future at Real Madrid, and on Saturday we covered claims that he only wants a loan, and that Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino had agreed to this idea.

Estadio Deportivo report Spurs have been in talks for a month, trying to reach an agreement to have the player in their squad next season.

Negotiations are said to be ‘very advanced’ and ‘everything points’ to the player swapping La Liga for the Premier League.

Tottenham are thought to have the ‘advantage’ and this is something that has been reported across Spain in the past few days.
