Leeds United will be on alert after NEC released a statement on their official website confirming their attacker Anthony Limbombe has refused to train. The 21-year-old has been linked with a move to Leeds United in the past few weeks following their attempts to sign the youngster last summer.

NEC have confirmed Limbombe must report to the club on Monday morning to decide what action will be taken after the Belgian walked out of training.

Limbombe storming out of training came after his agent yesterday held talks with NEC’s leaders with regards to his future of the player at the club.

“NEC has informed the attacker in writing that he must report Monday, July 18 at 09:00 at the club. Limbombe could not do so, then the club will consider appropriate action because of refusal to work,” said a statement on the club’s official website.

Limbombe is expected to leave NEC this summer, and has already handed in a transfer request with the Dutch side. The youngster is keen to progress his career following his impressive form in the past 12 months, and Leeds United are keen to land the attacker.

The Championship side had an offer rejected by NEC last summer, and recently handed in an improved bid.
