According to reports in the Italian media, Massimo Coda could leave Benevento in the next window after failing to make an impact with the Serie A side.
The 28 year old was linked with a move to Leeds United last year when he was playing for Salernitana.
TMW have reported Coda could leave Benevento in the new year, just a few months after signing for the club. The forward may need to find a new club due to his relationship with his manager, and a lack of games.
With Coda’s future with the Serie A side in limbo this could give Leeds United an opportunity to maybe bring in the player. With the injury concerns to Pierre-Michel Lasogga and Caleb Ekuban this season the Italian could be an option for the English side if they are in the hunt for a No.9 in the New Year.
Last year, we covered reports from Italy that Leeds United were showing an interest in Coda, and were hoping to pull off a deal with the Serie B side before the deadline.
Despite no offer coming in from the Championship side it was claimed officials from Leeds United held meetings in Milan with the sporting director of Salernitana to thrash out a deal.
However, Leeds United’s approach came too late in the window, but they continued to be linked with the attacker throughout last season.
