According to claims in the Italian media, Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa is ‘braking’ over the signing of Carpi forward Jerry Mbakogu.
The 23 year old has been linked with a move to Leeds United in recent months, but with the appointment of Bielsa this could mean the deal is dead.
Gazzetta dello Modena report, via TMW, the Leeds United boss isn’t interested in signing Mbakogu and this could ‘blow up the deal’.
Despite having an agreement in principle with Carpi for the young forward, Leeds United in recent weeks have started to distance themselves from a transfer deal.
There have been reports due to his knee injury last season the Championship side want the transfer fee to be reduced, but the likelihood of the move happening is becoming less.
It’s reported this could have an impact on Carpi and their plans in the transfer window. The Serie B side were reportedly looking to bring in reinforcements from the €3.5m Leeds United initially agreed to pay for the Nigerian.
