There are two very contracting views on Marco Silvestri coming out of Italy.

One, which was widely reported on Tuesday, is that the goalkeeper is on the verge of signing for Hellas Verona and will be the club’s main goalkeeper.

That was also covered by Gialloblu on Tuesday evening, who specialise in Hellas Verona, and it was claimed a deal is so far down the line that the Leeds United transfer ‘will soon be announced’.

The contrasting view is that he’s staying at Leeds United.

Another specialist on the Verona club, Hellas Live, state the goalkeeper will renew his Leeds contract ‘in the next few days’, but they also claim the 26 year old’s contract expired on June 30th, which doesn’t seem to be the case.

Perhaps Hellas Verona have been confident they could get Silvestri on a free transfer, and are somewhat shocked that’s not been the case, or maybe Hellas Live are way off scent.

Should Leeds United not be able to get a fee of any meaning for Silvestri, they could decide to keep him around.
