SciSports have confirmed they’ve agreed a one year contract with Leeds United, which will help the Championship side tap into their scouting platform.

It’s been revealed Leeds United will partner with SciSports, and their software will give the English club insight into 90,000 active players worldwide.

Speaking about the agreement, Leeds United sporting director Victor Orta said he hoped to improve the club’s scouting across the world by using SciSports: “I think you have to try to grow in the world of scouting, and mix both models in order to the recruitment of players.

“I am a true defender of the human eye, but in clubs with limited resources ,where we can’t have a scout per country, the main help of SciSkill is quality filters with the added value of SciSkill Potential which is a differential element with respect to all the similar tools that I have known.”

Last May Orta was installed as Leeds United’s sporting director, and one of the Spaniard’s first tasks was to bring in Sevilla scout Dani Salas.

During his time at Sevilla, Salas was a key figure in the Spanish side’s recruitment, and it’s no coincidence Leeds United have stepped up their scouting in Spain. There have also been reports of scouting in neighbouring Portugal, and, further afield, in Japan.

Orta clearly wants Leeds United to expand their horizons by monitoring players across the globe, and subsequently has turned to SciSports.
