On Sunday, GhanaSoccernet reported, presenting it very much as an exclusive, that Leeds United are interested in signing Andre Ayew in the January market.
It was claimed the club ‘prepare an audacious’ offer, with the story going on to say the approach would be a ‘lucrative’ one to try and tempt Swansea City.
Marcelo Bielsa is said to have a strong relationship with Ayew from their time together at Marseille, and the manager is aware that this time he could do with reinforcements in the winter market, as Leeds once again go strongly for promotion to the Premier League.
Despite being happy, Ayew would like a return to the top level of English football, and Leeds may be able to offer this.
The 29 year old has a contract with Swansea lasting until June 2021, and there’s every chance he’d like more security than simply one season. Should the Welsh club not wish to offer that then a move in one of the next two windows makes sense.
