At this stage, it’s not really news that Barcelona are working on the signing of Leeds United’s Raphinha, as reports from Brazil, England and Spain have all been talking about this chase.
Now an interesting update today shows that the Leeds winger isn’t just one of the signings the Catalan side are planing to make.
He’s actually the priority transfer they have for the summer window.
The information is brought by journalist Quim Domenech, who took part in Spanish TV show El Chiringuito de Jugones this week.
He points out it’s Barcelona president Joan Laporta who wants the signing of the Leeds star done.
“Laporta’s favourite is Raphinha. He loves him on a football level and he fits in terms of budget, contract,” said Domenech (via Fichajes).
“There is a good relationship with Raphinha’s agents and for Laporta, president of Barcelona, he’s the favourite among the options on the table.”
This week, reports from both Brazil and Spain have been pointing out that Raphinha’s agent, former Barcelona midfielder Deco, has travelled to the Catalan city to work on the transfer in person, as the club prepare to deliver an offer to Leeds United.
The signing of the winger was also backed by Ronaldinho, who’s a family friend and now wants to see him at the Camp Nou.
