427Leeds United are not pushing for a deal for Morocco midfielder Azzedine Ounahi, leaving the door wide open for the competition to sign him.

That’s according to journalist Alessio Lento, who say that Leeds currently ‘refute the possibility’ of signing the midfielder ‘at present’, leaving the door wide open for the likes of Napoli and Leicester to get a deal done.

Ounahi has been linked with a move away from Angers this month after impressing during Morocco’s run to the semi-finals of the competition in Qatar.

Leeds are believed to be among his admirers, with it reported that they were ‘ready to offer’ a better deal than the competition for the player and his representatives were in England to discuss a potential move.

It seems that they are not pushing for a transfer to happen, though, with Lento reporting that ‘at present’ they are denying the possibility of signing the player this month.

Why that isn’t the case isn’t made clear, but Leeds have already spent big in this window so perhaps they need to rein things in from here on out.

Whatever the reason, it seems they are not ready to push forward for Ounahi at this point, leaving the door open for the competition, such as Napoli.
