Falling out of favour at Getafe just a month into his loan from Leeds United, Samu Saiz, as pointed out by Marca, is back in the La Liga club’s squad for the upcoming fixture against Espanyol.
Taking part in the Spanish side’s first eight games, the attacking midfielder was relegated to the bench after a 3-1 win against Celta Vigo, failing to come onto the field for the next four league games before disappearing from squads altogether.
Why that is hasn’t really been explained, so it’s unsure if it’s purely a performance based decision from the manager, or if something happened behind the scenes.
Previous reports suggested that Samu Saiz had a preference to stay in Spain rather than return to Leeds in the summer, but it doesn’t appear that will be with Getafe.
Since he doesn’t appear to want to feature in Marcelo Bielsa’s plans, there might be a need for his agent to offer his services around ahead of the summer.
Valencia have allegedly made their interest known already and were reportedly willing to start negotiations on the matter as long as Getafe didn’t do a deal themselves.
