While it still hasn’t been made official, the transfer of Divock Origi from Liverpool to Milan feels like it’s just around the corner.
It’s been like that for a while, mind, but the general consensus in Italy is that the Belgian has chosen Italy as his next move, where he will expect to play a lot more than he has under Jürgen Klopp at Anfield.
Despite scoring at important times for Liverpool in the past, the forward has never managed to displace, and very understandably so, the likes of Sadio Mané and Mohamed Salah, which is why he decided to run down his contract with the Reds.
A move to Milan is now anticipated after numerous reports of an agreement being found, and while there are some who might have doubts about the move because he has been used sparingly on Merseyside, Franco Zavaglia is not one them.
Speaking to Milan News, the ‘well-known prosecutor’ was asked about Origi’s move to Milan and whether he will fit well into his soon-to-be new team.
He replied: “If he doesn’t play for Liverpool, I don’t understand why we should worry regardless. At Milan, they aren’t naïve, they know what they are doing. Don’t be negative, he can fit in very well.
“Let’s take [Tammy] Abraham. I felt some doubts when Roma took him, and, in the end, things turned out differently from what they expected.”
The 27-year-old has made 17 appearances for Liverpool this season, scoring six goals and assisting another four.
