The Argentine media obviously made some big noise when Marcos Rojo was seen breaking the lockdown. The Manchester United player, on loan at Estudiantes, was spotted playing cards and smoking with friends, while other people stayed at home to avoid the Coronavirus spread.

It was first the English press who had a response to the video, with claims saying manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wasn’t surprised with the defender’s behaviour, while the club would ask for an explanation on the case.

Now the Argentine press has managed to interview former Red Devils midfielder Juan Sebastian Verón, president of Estudiantes, and he gave his first words about the controversy.

“There was a talk about Rojo’s situation. We believe that he’s already grown up, and he’s old enough to take care of himself,” said Veron (via Olé).

“I had Marcos at home when he was little, I talked to him for a long time. But now I have to be after Darío Sarmiento,” he said, referring to a 17-year-old starlet.

Marcos Rojo was loaned out by Manchester United in January, and an injury postponed his debut for the Argentine side. He only managed to make one appearance for the club before the league was stopped due to Coronavirus.

Since his loan expires in June, the clubs are still to find a decision on what to do with his situation.
