FC Porto are reportedly one of the many clubs who are interested in signing Memphis Depay from Manchester United during the January window.
According to A Bola today, the Portuguese club are keeping an eye on the player’s situation, as they need a fast winger to replace Yacine Brahimi during the African Cup of Nations.
The newspaper claims that money would not be a problem, since it’s expected that Manchester United will keep paying for most of his wages.
What Depay would need is some convincing. It’s said that he has the chance to stay in a more competitive league, but if he wants to shine at a big club, with European football, then Porto would be a better choice.
The Dragons would be confident that their board’s persuasion power, together with the advice from their old manager José Mourinho, could convince the player.
Lyon and Fenerbahce are both said to be in the race too, so Depay really isn’t short of options of where to spend the next six months.
