If you’ve seen a number of claims that José Mourinho would be interested in Tanguy Ndombélé, it’s come from Italy.
The news emerged a couple of days ago from Calciomercato in Italy, where the website published a very short article of just 45 words, claiming that the Portuguese manager, now at AS Roma, wants a new midfielder and the Tottenham man is ‘among the welcome profiles’.
Actually, they say Mourinho, with the start of the season highlighting ‘the shortcomings’ of the club in midfield, wants a ‘footballer of great athleticism’, with the Frenchman ticking that box.
What’s easy to forget, however, is the fact that the two men aren’t exactly fans of each other, with Ndombélé struggling with the former Tottenham manager’s approach back when he was in charge at Spurs.
They then seemingly patched things up, with Ndombélé claiming he had ‘made mistakes’, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s overly keen to work with the Portuguese man once more.
Either way, if you were wondering where this story was coming from, since it’s absolutely everywhere at the minute, it’s from a 45 word article from Calciomercato with very little information to it other than the fact the midfielder’s contract with Tottenham runs out in 2025.
