The Bundesliga is incredibly close so far this season. After eight matches the top nine teams are separated by just two points, with Borussia Monchengladbach out in front.
Bayern Munich are third, with Borussia Dortmund second, and this week’s edition of SportBild covers potential managerial changes for both.
Jose Mourinho isn’t of interest to Bayern after his period at Manchester United, and the Munich club would instead be looking at Ralf Rangnick.
To complete the circle, Rangnick is also said to be a candidate for Manchester United should they give Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the boot.
Dortmund, however, would be interested in Mourinho if they decide to push Lucien Favre out the door. He’s a friend of Hans-Joachim Watzke and has been learning German for some time.
SportBild report that of all the languages he’s picked up, Mourinho is finding German the hardest, yet he remains ‘ambitious’ and is attracted by the idea of managing in the Bundesliga.
A problem for Dortmund would be the potential interest of Real Madrid, although this week the media closest to the Spanish club have been talking down that idea.
