Fanatik report former Besiktas defender Pepe could join Wolverhampton Wanderers as a free agent in the coming weeks.
Last month Pepe’s contract with the Istanbul club was terminated by mutual consent because of payment issues and now he’s free to talk with other clubs, including the Premier League side.
According to Fanatik’s information, the Portugal international looks is set to join Wolves and his agent Jorge Mendes is trying to facilitate a deal between the two parties.
Last summer it was widely covered in the Turkish media Wolves had tabled an offer for Pepe, which was thought to be in the region of €7m, but Besiktas rejected this bid at the time due to a lack of defensive cover.
The central defender has never played in the Premier League, with reports suggesting he’s looking to achieve this dream by joining Wolves.
Pepe has also been linked with a move to China and the Middle East in recent weeks.
