It’s not even noon and we’ve already covered three completely different Wolves transfer claims from three countries, and this isn’t unusual. The Premier League club are being linked endlessly with players, more than so than most other sides in the division.
The latest rumour comes from Italy and GazzaMercato.
GazzaMercato, in our opinion, is like the more excitable cousin of Gazzetta dello Sport.
They claim Ignazio Abate, who is AC Milan’s vice captain, could leave the Serie A club this summer. The right back has a contract until June 2019 and if Milan can get a reasonable fee and 31 year old Abate get a longer contract then it may become an attractive proposition.
Wolves are said to like the player, but Milan would need to get a replacement in first.
GazzaMercato bring up the Wolves and Joao Cancelo links again and the supposed €40m offer to Valencia, with the player knocking it back. However, it’s again worth pointing out the local Valencia media didn’t back that up independently.
Is there anything in this or have GazzaMercato wanted to link Abate with an exit and Wolves is the ever increasingly obvious option? That’s for you to decide.
