Having considered making a move for Arsenal’s Lucas Perez to replace Felipe Caicedo, Lazio seemingly turned their attention elsewhere when it became clear the Spaniard would most likely head to West Ham instead.
Yet to get rid of the Ecuadorian, the Serie A side are still planning their future without him, and the latest trail has led them to Celtic’s Moussa Dembélé.
The young French striker has been linked with a move away from Celtic Park the minute he moved to Scotland on a free from Fulham, but the club’s and Brendan Rodgers’ reluctance to see their star man leave has been enough to see off suitors for the time being.
However, that could change, as Il Tempo report on Wednesday that ‘contact’ has been made between Lazio and Celtic about Dembélé, but that’s about as far as they go for now.
Contact could easily mean the Serie A side picking up the phone only to be hung up on as soon as they mentioned the striker’s name, so we wouldn’t read into it too much for now.
Numbers aren’t mentioned either, but we doubt Celtic will just hand him over for a measly sum.
