On Thursday, Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri stated Ipswich Town are in advanced talks to sign Burnley’s Lyle Foster on a loan deal with an obligation to buy set at £25m. He also said the 23-year-old is close to joining the Premier League side.
This would have allowed Burnley to make a huge profit as they reportedly invested £5.9m to buy him.
Burnley are keen on letting the striker join Ipswich Town in the next few hours.
That’s according to Sacha Tavolieri, who again took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to provide the latest on this case.
He claims the Championship side ‘tried well and truly’ to transfer Foster to Ipswich Town on loan with a mandatory purchase option.

Tavolieri makes no mention of the reason for Ipswich Town to end their pursuit of Foster. This wouldn’t please Burnley, who have been looking to make profit from this deal.
Foster has made four appearances for Burnley this season. He’ll continue to have a role under Scott Parker, if the Clarets can’t find another club before the window closes later today.
