Last week, Kicker reported Brentford are among the clubs chasing Paris Saint-Germian’s Hugo Ekitike. The Premier League side are now joined by Burnley in the transfer race.

That’s according to Bild, who state the Bees and Vincent Komapny’s side could get in Eintracht Frankfurt’s way to secure a deal for the striker on deadline day.

Brentford and Burnley are ‘very interested’ in signing Ekitike who has lost prominence at PSG.

The 21-year-old hasn’t made an appearance since last August and the Ligue 1 side want to get rid of him before the window closes later today.

Eintracht Frankfurt can’t compete financially with Brentford or Burnley, and have already seen their initial offer of a loan deal [with €3m loan fee] with a €15m purchase option rejected by PSG.

The player, who’s willing to give up a large part of his salary, favours a move to Eintracht Frankfurt. This is an advantage for the Bundesliga side, who, as per Bild, won’t make an improved offer.

With Brentford and Burnley keen, the report claims it’s quite possible the Paris club could send Ekitike to England.

If this happens, Bild say it won’t be too much of a blow for the German club as they are currently well covered up front.
