On Thursday we covered a report from L’Equipe which was at least slightly irritating from an Everton perspective.
The Merseyside club were described as ‘greedy’ after telling PSG they’d have to part with €45m to sign Idrissa Gueye in the winter transfer window.
Looking for a midfielder in the current market, Gueye is one of a number who have been identified as a realistic option, but Everton simply aren’t behaving the way PSG would like them to.
Today’s edition of Le Parisien also dubs the Toffees ‘greedy’, whilst insisting that interest in the player is genuine.
It’s stated a source close to the French champions has confirmed the desire to sign Gueye ‘is real’, and it’s claimed the player is ‘not insensitive’ to a January move.
Le Parisien go with a different figure, claiming Everton are asking for €40m, but still think requesting such an amount is a sign of transfer fee gluttony.
