Midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek appears to be loving life away from Chelsea at new club AC Milan and may have even been throwing a little shade at his former club with his latest comments.
The midfielder has been speaking to Corriere dello Sport about life at his new club after joining Milan from Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
He left Stamford Bridge in a €16m deal back in July, one of a long list to depart the club as Todd Boehly and co tried to balance the books.
It brought an end to over a decade of association with Chelsea, who he joined as a youngster in 2012 and played for at various youth levels before moving to the first team in 2015.
He was no longer part of their plans moving forwards, particularly with Chelsea eventually signing Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo to go into midfield alongside Enzo Fernandez, and so he was shipped out.
He’s since had a ‘very positive’ start to life in Milan, where he has played all but one match and established himself as a key player early on, much to his delight.
“It’s incredible, I look around and I’m still amazed by the size of the stadium, by its history,” he said.
“I look at all this, I think I can play here every week and God knows for how long, so I’m really happy about it all.
“It’s incredible to have such support despite such a bad result in the championship.”
