After Inter joined the list of potential destinations for Tiémoué Bakayoko, we’ve seen the Matias Vecino story rear it’s head again.
The Uruguayan was said to be a target for the Blues all throughout the World Cup, but the managerial situation at Stamford Bridge overshadowed any sort of transfer rumour after that.
With that now sorted, and Jorginho already in London, other negotiations are underway.
Bakayoko has already been sent to Sevilla, but nothing has come from that rumour since last week, and now Inter appear to have moved slowly ahead of the pack thanks to Vecino.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Uruguay international is a ‘precise request’ by Maurizio Sarri and a deal seeing the 26-year-old head to London and Bakayoko move to Milan ‘shouldn’t be excluded’.
Whether that happens through a swap deal or via two independent transfers isn’t specified, but Inter are keen to give Luciano Spalletti a ‘motor’ for his midfielder, having given up on their attempts to sign Tottenham’s Mousa Dembélé.
One to keep an eye on.
