Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof has revealed his intention to speak to his Sweden teammates about their attitude going into games.
Sweden currently face relegation from Group 4 in League B having won just one of their five games so far.
They’ve lost the other four and sit on three points overall, two points behind Slovenia in fourth place and seven behind Serbia and Norway at the top of the group.
This week was another chastening experience for them as they were beaten 4-1 by Serbia, courtesy of a hattrick from Fulham’s Aleksandr Mitrovic.
Manchester United defender Lindelof started that game as the left-sided centre back in a back three but like his fellow defenders was powerless as Mitrovic bagged his goals and Sasa Lukic added a fourth in the 70th minute.
It’s an experience he doesn’t want to repeat, and he’s admitted to Aftonbladet that he intends to speak to his teammates about their attitude before tonight’s clash with Slovenia.
“It’s a question of attitude,” the Manchester United defender told the newspaper.
“We go in to win, we have to win. I definitely don’t want to play in the C-division.
“I will talk to the guys about this. We absolutely cannot lose duels in the same way as we did against Serbia.
“For me it’s a question of attitude too. To go in 100% in every duel. Everyone has to be on their toes.”
