Aston Villa star Emiliano Martinez has admitted he will sit down and discuss his future over the next year.
The Argentine goalkeeper has established himself as one of the best in Europe during the last two seasons with Villa, establishing himself as their number one and for his country as well.
His performances have not gone unnoticed, with several clubs in Europe, particularly Juventus, believed to be eyeing up a move.
Getting him out of Aston Villa would be no easy feat, with Steven Gerrard’s side likely to resist any offers that come their way.
Indeed, they have no need to sell, given the goalkeeper signed a new deal at Villa Park earier this year that will see him remain at the club until 2027.
That won’t stop the rumours, though, and the 29-year-old is more than aware of them but insists talk of a move away from Aston Villa is on hold for the time being.
“I’ve already been asked,” he told AS when asked if he wants to play for a club in the Champions League.
“The club is doing well. The season is over, and we already have big signings. I’m not thinking about moving yet. I’m thinking about playing for the national team.
“When all this is over, I will sit down with my family. It’s not something I’m thinking about five months before the World Cup.”
