The 22 year old impressed for Tottenham at the start of the season, and was outstanding in the away trip to Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Speaking to FourFourTwo, Winks was asked about being compared to the Arsenal midfielder. “Yeah, I’ve seen one or two comparisons and I understand them, given all the similarities. I remember watching an Arsenal game and he was phenomenal. I think he was about two years younger at the time than I’m now.”

Winks made his debut for Tottenham in 2014, but this season has seen the youngster push on.

The midfielder was an alternative to Moussa Dembele at the start of the season, and was a regular in the Champions League prior to the recent games against Juventus.

The Tottenham youngster has received praise from the likes of Luka Modric in recent weeks, but with the form of Dembele he’s been watching from the sidelines.

Winks last start came in Tottenham’s 6-1 victory over Rochdale in the FA Cup, but he wasn’t involved for the defeat to Juventus on Wednesday night.
