It’s absolutely no secret that Torino wanted to re-sign Dennis Praet from Leicester City this summer.
Following the loan spell he had at the Serie A side during the 2021/22 season, the Turin side were many times reported to be making an effort to have him for another year.
Their failed attempt to sign the 28-year-old has now been admitted to by their technical director Davide Vagnati, and, as quoted by Calciomercato, he claimed that despite the player’s wish to make the move, the Foxes chose to keep him in their squad.
“There is no regret for the midfielder who did not arrive,” said Vagnati (via Calciomercato).
Now despite Leicester City’s effort to keep Praet, truth is that he’s been of little use for Brendan Rodgers.
He has three appearances for the Foxes this season, and was not brought onto the pitch in the 0-1 defeat to Manchester United last night.
While Torino tried to sign him, it had been reported by the Italian media that they wanted the player on a loan with an obligation to buy him for around €10m, but that wasn’t enough to convince the Premier League side.
